The mouthpiece is undoubtedly the most important part of a saxophone as it produces the tonality and, at the same time, acts as the interface between the body of the musician and the instrument itself. One of Massimo’s passions is the repair and refacing performed on the mouthpieces of saxophones and clarinets.
Particularly, through a delicate artisan process, the repair of the mouthpieces respecting the original parameters or modifying the opening following the indications of his customers. In performing refacing Massimo D’avola is able to make a perfect copy from a sample.
